The Dashboard is the first screen you see after logging in. It gives you a snapshot of your current status at a glance.
What you'll see on your Dashboard:
• Profile Status Banner — if your account is pending approval, a yellow banner shows here. You cannot apply to jobs until you're approved.
• Stats row — total jobs completed, total earnings, and your average star rating.
• 🤖 AI Job Recommendations — a list of open jobs ranked by how well they match your skills, licence, and location. Updated automatically.
• Active Assignment card — if you're currently on an accepted job, it shows here with quick access to chat and job controls.
• Recent Jobs — latest open listings you can browse directly from the dashboard.
Finding & Applying to Jobs
Tap 'Jobs' in the bottom navigation bar.
This opens the full job board with all open listings.
Browse or use filters.
Filter by work type, licence class, pay rate, or urgency. Use the search bar for keywords like "flatbed" or "Calgary."
Tap a job card to view details.
You'll see the full job description, location, pay rate, required licence, estimated hours, and company info.
Tap 'Apply' to submit your application.
You can include a short message. Your profile is automatically shared with the company.
Wait for a response.
There are two hiring modes:
Hiring Modes Explained
• First Come, First Served — the first driver to apply is automatically hired. Apply quickly!
• Company Selects — the company reviews all applicants and picks who they want. You'll get notified either way.
My Jobs — Tracking Active Work
Navigate to My Jobs in the bottom menu to see all your applications and active assignments.
Application Status Guide
• Pending — waiting for company decision
• Accepted — you got the job! Coordinate with the company.
• In Progress — job is actively running. Both parties confirmed start.
• Completed — job finished. Payment is being processed.
• Rejected / Withdrawn — not selected or you withdrew your application.
Use in-app chat for all communication.
Tap the message icon on any accepted application to chat with the company. Use this for directions, timing, and updates.
Tap 'Start Job' when you arrive on site.
Both you and the company must tap Start. Once both confirm, the job is marked In Progress and the clock starts for billing.
Tap 'End Job' when work is done.
Both parties must confirm. Once confirmed, payment is automatically calculated and queued for payout.
ELD & Hours of Service (HOS)
The ELD page is your electronic logbook. You must keep it updated to stay compliant with Canadian federal HOS regulations.
Canadian HOS Limits (Cycle 1)
• Max 13 hours driving in a day
• Max 14 hours on-duty (driving + working) in a day
• Required rest: 8 consecutive hours off-duty before next shift
Open the ELD page from the side menu.
You'll see your duty status buttons, today's hour totals, and a visual gauge showing % of limits used.
Tap the correct status whenever it changes.
Keep your status accurate at all times:
Duty Status Options
• Driving — vehicle is moving and you're operating it
• On Duty (Not Driving) — inspections, loading, fueling, waiting at dock
• Sleeper Berth — resting in a sleeper cab
• Off Duty — completely released from all work responsibilities
Watch the HOS gauges.
The progress bars change colour as you use up your hours: green (safe) → yellow (75%) → orange (90%) → red (100%).
HOS Alert System
At 75%, 90%, and 100% of your limits you will receive:
• An in-app banner at the top of the ELD page
• A push notification on your device
• An email alert
• Your company is also automatically notified and sent a list of replacement drivers
The ELD page also shows HOS-Aware Job Recommendations — jobs that fit within your remaining legal hours so you can keep earning without risking a violation.
Earnings & Payouts
Connect your bank account via Stripe.
Go to Profile → Payouts tab and tap "Connect Bank Account." You'll be taken to Stripe's secure setup. RoadHire never stores your banking info directly.
Earnings are calculated automatically.
Once a job is marked complete, the system calculates your pay based on hours worked × your agreed rate.
Pay Breakdown Example
Rate: $30/hr × 8 hours = $240.00 gross
Platform fee (15%) = −$36.00
Your payout = $204.00
Payouts process weekly every Monday.
Funds arrive in your bank account within 2–5 business days after processing.
Profile & Documents
Your profile is your resume. Companies browse it before deciding to hire you. Keep it complete and up to date.
Key Profile Fields
• Licence Class — select your highest class. This determines which jobs you appear for.
• Years of Experience — be accurate. Companies value honesty.
• Equipment Types — flatbed, tanker, reefer, etc. Add everything you're comfortable with.
• Endorsements — air brakes, dangerous goods, etc.
• Availability — set to "Immediate" when you're ready to work right now.
• Bio — a short paragraph about your experience and what makes you reliable.
Required Documents for Approval
• Driver's Licence — Front & Back (clear photos)
• Driver's Abstract — your official driving record from your provincial registry ($10–$25)
• Selfie with Licence — photo of you holding your licence for identity verification
Reviews & Ratings
After every completed job, both you and the company leave a star rating and optional comment. Your average rating is shown on your public profile.
Why Your Rating Matters
• Drivers with 4.5+ stars appear higher in company searches and AI recommendations
• Companies can filter by minimum rating when posting jobs
• A strong rating builds trust and leads to repeat work from the same companies
